Mangaluru: Praveen Nettaru murder case – NIA takes five accused into custody

Mangaluru, Aug 19: National Investigating Agency (NIA) took into custody, on Thursday, August 18, five accused in the murder case of BJP leader Praveen Nettaru.

Naufal (28), Sainul Abid (22), Mohammed Syed (32), Abdul Basheer (29) and Riyaz (27) were taken into custody by NIA for six days.

It is alleged that the accused killed Praveen Nettaru on July 27. Bellare police, who registered a case under prevention of unlawful activities act, had arrested the accused. Later the case was transferred to NIA.

The NIA officers who intensified the investigation took the accused into custody for interrogation. Sources said that the five accused are lodged in prison in city and they will be interrogated in the prison itself.
