Puttur: St Philomena College's Prof Bharati S Rai bags outstanding teacher award

Puttur, Aug 20: Bharati S Rai, HOD and professor of English at St Philomena college, was given the Oustanding Teacher award with gold medal for her contribution to education by Bunts Association of Puttur.

Prof Bharati S Rai did degree education from Roshani Nilaya, Mangaluru, MA from Andhra University, MPhil from Vinayaka Mission, LLB from KVG law College, Sullia, and pursuing PhD at Srinivasa Autonomous University, Mangaluru. For the past twenty years, Prof Bharati S Rai has been working as English lecturer at St Philomena college, Puttur. Presently, she is student welfare officer in the college.

 

Bharati S Rai is the wife of Belya Sanath Kumar Rai, an industrialist. The couple has a son, Jai Shankar Rai, who is presently studying engineering at the Vellur Institute of Technology (VIT).

The principal and the management congratulated prof Bharati S Rai for her contribution and for bringing the laurels to the college.
