Mangalore, Apr 15: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev was given a warm welcome by devotees and the public at Pumpwell here on Friday April 15 at 7.30 pm.
He will be organizing a free yoga camp at Nehru Maidan in the city from 5 am to 7.30 am on Saturday April 16. He is scheduled to visit Moodbidri, Karkala and Manipal later.
After arriving in the city, he proceeded towards the residence of the organizer of the camp, Ajit Kumar Rai Malady at Malady where he was accorded a grand welcome amidst the beats of ‘Kerala Chande’.
He unfurled the ‘Pingara’ on the stage and wished that the New Year (Ugadi) is prosperous for all. Addressing the gathering Baba Ramdev said that inspiration and motivation are foundations of a happy life. Terming the human body as equivalent to the entire universe, he said hard work, self-discipline, and confidence will help one to lead a blissful life.
He also suggested that one should watch less television and instead follow rituals regularly to inculcate ‘Brahma Bhava’ in mind. He added that western people consider this earth as a commodity to get pleasure, whereas we Indians tend to consider this earth as divine entity.
To a query by media persons, Baba Ramdev said Bharath Swabhiman Yatra has been organized to save India from the clutches of corruption and added there was no political agenda behind the motto.
Later he was felicitated with a shawl by Ajith Kumar Malady and Asha couple. ‘Sathwik Aahar’ (dinner) was offered to the devotees.
The free yoga camp in the city is being held under the aegis of Bharat Swabhiman and Patanjali Yoga Peetha’s Dakshina Kannada district unit. At the same venue, expert doctors, who will arrive from Haridwar, will conduct a health check-up camp from 8 am to 1 pm.
