Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister's Aide Held for Molestation

Mumbai, April 16 (IANS) The personal assistant of the Maharashtra medical education minister has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 28-year-old woman, police said here Saturday.

Vishnu Patil, the assistant of minister Vijay Kumar Gavit, was arrested late Friday after a complaint was lodged by the victim.

The woman alleged that Patil promised to help her get a job. "He asked me out for dinner to discuss the matter and then misbehaved," the victim told reporters.

The minister remained unavailable for comment despite several attempts. Patil is likely to be produced in court Saturday.
