Art Expo by Special Students Brings to Fore Hidden Talents

Mangalore, Apr 16: A mesmerizing art and craft exhibition, ‘Vision – 2011’ organized by Saanidhya residential school for the differently abled, Shaktinagar was inaugurated at Kadri Park here on Saturday April 16.
Divakar Shetty, assistant manager, MCF inaugurated the exhibition. Various products made by students of Sannidhya, including paintings, items of clay, stonework and greeting cards, are on display. Clay items such as flower vases, sets of candles, woolen mats, telephone covers, pouches for cell phones and pots with flower patterns painted on them were a testimony to the skills of the students and the exemplary training imparted by the teachers at Sanidhya. Some of the children are even capable of completing tasks independently.
Mahabala Marla, president, Shree Ganesh Seva Trust welcomed the gathering. On the occasion Sadananda Acharya and Sadananda Bajjodi were felicitated. Puttaswamy delivered the vote of thanks. Sapna Shetty compered the programme. Ramesh Bhat, chief manager, MCF was present.
The exhibition will continue on Sunday April 17 also. A cultural programme ‘Saanidhya Utsava’ by special students of Saanidhya will also be held on Sunday at the same venue at 6.30 pm. 'Bethala Helida Kathe', a drama, and fashion show will also follow.
