Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School marks World Coconut Day

Mangaluru, Sep 5: The World Coconut Day is recognised every year on September 2. This event was started in the year 2009 on September 2 by Asia Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) to raise awareness and the significance of coconuts and their impact on society.

According to many philosophies the coconut tree is a symbol of 'life' it is referred to as ‘Tree of Life’ because of the versatile contribution of coconut in food, cosmetics and medicines and many other things.

St Agnes CBSE School too recognised this day by presenting the significance before the students. To make the day more meaningful several activities were presented by the students. grade III and IV presented the Art work using coconut leaves, grade V and VI art with coconut choir, grade VII art using coconut shell and grade VII presented the craft done from coconut stalks.

The students enthusiastically participated in this important event and displayed creative things made from various parts of the coconut tree.

The administrator, the principal and staff congratulated the students for their wonderful presentation and participation.
