Bangalore: Elias Sanctis Among Recipients of ‘Nadaprabhu Kempegowda' Award

Bangalore, Apr 21: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa presented the prestigious ‘Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Award’ to entrepreneur Elias Sanctis on Monday April 18.
Around 270 people from around the state who excelled in their respective fields have been conferred with the award comprising a cash prize of Rs 20,000.

Sanctis, the former Tulu Koota president of Kuwait, who also initiated the campaign for the Mangalore-Kuwait direct flight service, is now an entrepreneur running his business in Kuwait, Dubai, and Mangalore.
He is also a recipient of the ‘Aryabhata – 2011’ award which was presented to him earlier this month by state minister Dr V S Acharya.
The Kempegowda Award is initiated by BBMP (Brahath Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike). This year’s ceremony also marked the 500th anniversary of Kempegowda at the BBMP Main Office, Narasimharaja Circle, Bangalore.
Minister Shobha Karandlaje, MP Ananth Kumar, BBMP Mayor S K Nataraj, and opposition leader Nagaraj were also present.
