Kasargod: One arrested for smuggling gold in pencil sharpener, tiger balm

Kasargod, Sep 13: A man, resident of Kasargod was arrested at Calicut airport for concealing gold in pencil sharpener and bottles of Tiger Balm. As much as 769 grams of gold was confiscated from the accused.

Mohammed Shabir (28) is the person arrested by the Custom officials in this connection. He used to convert gold as pencil cutter and transport it. In addition, he used to conceal the gold inside Tiger Balm bottles.

Custom officials have confiscated 16 cutter blades from Shabir. He also applied the layer of gold on ladies handbag, cooker and lid of Tiger Balm.

Gold worth Rs 105 crore is confiscated at Karippur airport of Calicut in the past eight months.

    when the thinking comes that officers...... commission .......... involvement is there then the person who comments also does the same. He might have experienced in other ways of stealing items and may be given tip off by his own friend or opponent. We should always respect ones post and then comment . NOT EVERYONE IS CORRUPT. SINCERITY AND HONESTY ALWAYS EXIST. WE SHOULD NOT BE GREEDY FOR MONEY AND WEALTH.Instead of being greedy for money it would be better for us to be “greedy” in a good sense for godliness and God's kingdom.

    If customs don't get Tipp off they cant find nor catch anything. Someone doesn't get a cut form the business then the informer is ready to give a tip off because he gets a % of commission when he gives tip off . Even some officers are involved in this smuggling operations .. Everything is understanding in sharing the commission
