Mangalore: Ivan D’Souza Chosen Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary

Mangalore, Apr 21: Among the recently elected office-bearers of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Ivan D’Souza, D K district Congress vice-president has been elected the secretary with the approval from All India Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
State Congress Committee’s 66 office-bearers attended a meet headed by state Congress president Dr G Paramehswara on April 18. The members were given guidance on committee organization.
At a press meet here, Ivan acknowledged district Congress leaders like Oscar Fernandes, Veerappa Moily, Janardhan Poojary, Vinaya Kumar Sorake and B Ramanath Rai among others who supported him to represent the state committee as its secretary.
About Ivan D’Souza
Ivan entered politics in 1985 as Mandala Panchayat member and went on to become All College President of Mangalore University. He represented various committees and organizations including D K district Workers Parishat founder president, D K district bus workers union and so on. He has served in different capacities and has been a trained advocate since 22 years.
He was an active member of Congress and has played a vital role during elections in Goa, Kerala, Mysore and Karnataka. He has also made considerable contributions to the party as district vice-president.
