Mangaluru/Bengaluru, Nov 9: The curiosity over the lead male casting in a much awaited movie of Soori’s 'Kendasampige' has come to rest, with farmer’s son from Chamarajanagar, 'Santosh Reva' briefing his journey to the cinema field with daijiworld, holding his dream of emerging as a director close to his chest.
The movie Kendasampige is directed by one of the noted directors of the Sandalwood industry, 'Duniya' famed Soori. The movie is currently undergoing dubbing process and according to the sources teaser will be out within a week.
However, in what could be more interesting, the latter debutant lead actor will be casted along with Mirchi girl of Mangaluru 'Shwetha Kamath' in Kendasampige. The passion among both the lead actors remains to be a director, while far more serious Santosh entered film industry to take up the job of direction. “My infatuation towards movies was from childhood. During my young days I was accompanied to movie theatres by my parents”, recalled Santosh.
Santosh, who pursued his half-finished B.com at Mysore University, told he hails from poor faming background and stepped into cine-filed developing a dream of directing movies. He told during his college days at Mysore he was sharing his ideas with his friends, Manohar, Mohan and Babu. However after he met two popular directors of Kannada cinema, Yograj Bhat and Soori he bagged opportunities to work with duo film giants.
“I worked as an associate director with Bhat and Soori”. He further added that 'Jackie', 'Anna Bond', 'Kaddipudi' directed by Soori and 'Paramathma' by Yograj were the movies he associated.
“The prime factor for me to surface onto better platform is my mentor Soori sir”, he humbled. Though he was not keen on acting, it was Soori’s persistence which pushed him to pick up the task of acting as he was fit to the lead role in 'Kendasampige'. He also played a small role in Kaddipudi under the instructions of his teacher.
Santosh expressed he was a bit scared to face camera as he was only used to work behind the screen since 2009. “My sir extracted best from me for this movie”.
Speaking on Shwetha Kamath he said “In fact we both were fearful of acting in the big project”. Moreover he said he was inspired by few movies for life, which mainly include 'Bangarada Manushya' by Siddalingaiah and 'Blood Diamond' directed by Edward Zwick. “I deeply wept watching 'Blood Diamond'." He added.
He conveyed his passion for directing movies will not be subsided. He would direct movies in future course of time but will also not hold himself back from acting, had the opportunities knocked his door.
