Bahrain, Sep 19: Karnataka Social Club held its annual Nativity feast on September 14.
The event started with a brief introduction of the feast by the compere of the evening, Bertram Rego. This was followed by a procession in tandem by the sponsors and co-sponsors of the event. Members’ children completed the procession with baskets of flowers.
The offering of flowers in a sequence was against a background choir of members breaking into a melodious Konkani hymn. Association’s president's wife Veena D’Souza recited a short prayer as a follow-up. The tradition of distributing ‘roce’ was followed by a short cultural programme comprising of a devotional dance, skit and a group song. The event concluded with a traditional vegetarian meal on banana sleaves.
