Sharjah: Thumbay Hospital day care conducts free health camp at Rolla

Sharjah, Jan 30: Thumbay Hospital Day Care, Rolla, here, the multispecialty day care hospital under Thumbay Group’s healthcare division, organized a free health camp on Friday January 26.

Organized with the aim of promoting health awareness among the public and offering them easy access to quality healthcare, the camp offered specialist's consultations, medicines, laboratory investigations, X-ray, ECG and ultrasound services; all completely free of charges.

Prof Hossam Hamdy, chancellor of Gulf Medical University, Ajman was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the health camp. “At the outset, I congratulate Dr Thumbay Moideen - founder president of Thumbay Group on the first anniversary of Thumbay Hospital Day Care. I am impressed by the facilities and the team of doctors and caregivers here and their services to the community. I am sure this hospital will continue serving more people in the future, being strategically located at the heart of Rolla,” he said.



Held from 9 am to 9 pm, the camp offered free healthcare services including specialized doctor consultations and blood sugar / blood sugar / BMI checkups. A team of specialized doctors, consultants, nurses and volunteers conducted free consultations and checkups across various specialized departments. Moreover, medicines, laboratory investigations and radiology services were offered completely free of charge. Visitors also availed the free refraction and fundoscopy tests.

Families and people of all age groups attended the camp. Thasni, an Indian national who consulted the general practitioner, thanked Thumbay Hospital Day Care for the camp. “I have been able to get free consultation, as well as lab tests and ultrasound, completely free of cost. Everything from consultation to sample collections, specialized referral and medicine collection took just around 45 minutes, in spite of the fact that there are multitudes of people attending the camp. The camp is well-coordinated and systematically organized,” she said.
