Doha: SKMWA hosts fourth Peace Kabadi Tournament

Doha, Apr 16: South Kanara Muslim South Welfare Association (SKMWA), Qatar on April 13 hosted the fourth Peace Kabaddi Tournament at Ideal Indian School.

The event commenced at 8.00 am, with a welcome speech and ceremonial release of pigeons which is a symbol of peace and the primary motto of the event by the president of SKMWA, Abdul Majeed Abbas Moodbidre.

The chief guest Ravi Shetty is a well known entrepreneur and humanitarian. All the presidents of Karnataka associated committees were invited as guests for the event. The welcome speech was delivered after the recitation of the Kirat. Kasim hosted the oath taking ceremony for the participants. Soon after the ceremony, the much awaited Kabaddi tournament commenced, wherein fixtures were prepared and a fare game backed by outstanding sportsmanship from the participating sportspersons was played.



The crowd was excited and cooperated till the end.

KM won the first place and SKMWA bagged the runner up title. The closing and prize distribution ceremony brought the tournament to a close at 10.00 pm. The chief guest for the evening was a well known humanitarian, Habeeb Nabi who was facilitated by the SKMWA president Abdul Majeed Abbas and fellow committee members Feroz, Ibrahim Beary, Sameem and the other members who were credited for the smoothe functioning of the event.

Rezwan was the host for the evening and secretary of SKMWA Abdul Sathar presented the vote of thanks. Thanks to all the members of SKMWA who put up this event in order to bring tranquility amongst the folks of Karnataka thereby building a homely environment far from home.
