Heartfelt Sympathies Dear Fathers at St Aloysius and in the Karnataka Province. It is surprising to note that both these stalwarts passed away on the same day. I had the good fortune of interacting closely with both these Jesuits. Fr Isidore was my headmaster in class 6 and 7. Fr AS Rodrigues was my CLC director during high school and they both made an impact on my formative years. May their souls rest in peace.

Sad to hear abotu the sad demise of Jesuits Frs. who are very strict desciplinarians with values and highly educated. They contributed so much to the educational field and their institutions produced some of the best students, I remember Fr. Isisore was a teacher of strict values in the class and out side very affectionate. Fond old memories of these priests still cherishes with us. Really really sad to read the news. Fr. Rodrigues was the band master in St. Joseph's High School, Bangalore and I played the flute and trumpet in the band the Fr. taught me to play. He will never be forgotten in my heart and in my prayers. I grew up in the boarding school, St. Louis Boarding house in Bangalore and the S.J priests were my adopted parents including Fr. Rodrigues.

Heartfelt condolences to the Jesuit Fathers and families of St. Aloysius College and St. Josephs College. I was a member of Fr. A. S. Rodrigues band in school and really admire his effort and dedication to the school, band and the Mangalorean community. It was indeed a great pleasure to be in his band I have had some great opportunities to play in the band for many school, government and cultural occasions in and around Mangalore for many eminent dignitaries.

I also had the opportunity to be part of the Band for Mother Teresa during her visit to Managlore. Fr Rodrigues was a great inspiration to the students May his soul rest in peace.

I myself was in the Band & used to play the Trumpet. Fr. A S Rodrigues - has really won all the minds and hearts of all the Band boys at St. Aloysius Mangalore. He strived hard to keep the music flowing at all times when at St. Aloysius. Remember those great band days, the band practises we had, the enjoyment when we performed at all college & school functions.... name them & the band was there in attendance. It's definatley a great loss to the St. Aloysius College Mangalore, the brass band troupe and the music community. Let's salute this great person who worked for the upliftment of the Band & keep the music flowing..... Dear Fr Provincial and the whole Karnataka Jesuit Province, our heartfelt condolences on the passing away of two of your stalwarts.

Fr Isidore ( affectionately known as Ijju Padrap ) was our science teacher in the High school ( 1976-77) A strict disciplinarian inside the class room but affectionate and approachable outside. We remember him as a strong and adventerous priest. We cannot forget the overnight camp he organized at the Jamalabad Fort , Belthangady. Also, some of us who pursued Engineering at Hassan, Fr Isidore was always ready to help.

Fr Rodrigues will always be remembered for his school band. He trained the boys and performed at all school functions . Less known fact about Fr Rodrigues is that he was in charge of the evening school which was mainly for the poor boys who worked during the day and had a desire to study.
