Rev Fr Paschal Serrao (68) Infant Jesus Ward, Corpus Christi Church, Moodbidri Son late Piad Serrao and late Mrs Gracy Mary Serrao, brother of Marceline Serrao/late Julian Rodrigues; Mark Serrao/Juliana; Fr Celestine Serrao SJ ,Mundugudu, Karwar; Fr Gregory Serrao , Parish Priest Kaudur-Gurpur; Fr John Serrao SVD Mysore; Felix Serrao/Sevrince; Fr Lazarus Serrao SVD, Indore; Sr Lilly Serrao, Sister Of Charity; Monthina /Ciryil Moras; Fr Francis Serrao SJ, Provincial, Bangalore; passed away in Varanasi at 6 a.m. on 20th August 2013, due to a massive cardiac attack.

As a priest he served the Diocese of Varanasi for the last 35 years.

Funeral ceremony will be held at the Cathedral of Varanasi on Thursday, August 22..

Very Sad News. Heart felt sympathy to Fr.John and Fr. Lazarus. I remember those days which I had spend with Br. Pascol. He was a very jovial person. May his soul rest in peace.

What an exemplary family. Out of a family of ten the parents gifted six sons to The Service of God and of course one sister too to serve The Lord. Obviously the family indeed must have been a pious family brought up well. Of the priests two Jesuits are closely known to me. Father Francis Serrao and Father Celestine Serra both Jesuits connected with Karnataka Jesuit Mission. Father Francis popularly know as Father Frankie has a great track record. He held different positions in The Society. As a rector of St. Aloysius College and other institutions he accomplished a lot. He was greatly responsible for the OUT REACH programmes. He indeed made inroads into Karnataka and spreading the WORD OF GOD and building institutions for the education of the poor and deprived. An amenable person of great qualities of heart and mind was was strict but kind. Presently as a Provincial of The Karnataka Jesuit Mission, He has contributed a lot for the up-lift of the poor. His latest project in Mundgod deserves all attention and support.
Father Celestine Serra S.J. is a quiet but efficient educationalist. His tenure as The Head Master of St. Aloysius High School derived him a great name as an educator of repute.

I did not have the privilege of knowing late Father Paschal Serrao but have heard excellent reports about him. He went far away to distant Varanasi to serve the poor and in that respect did a wonderful job deserving high praise.
I join scores of people in extending sympathies to Father Francis, Father Celestine and the others members of the bereaved Serrao family.
