I sit and dream of my future. I’ve colourful dreams which will come true one day. Sometimes I think of my childhood, when I was so happy and secure in the company of my parents. As I grew up I began to understand the world better.
Today I’ve reached the most significant stage of my life. People say this age is the golden age of life. I am a youth now. There are many responsibilities on my shoulders. I’ve enjoyed my life as a son, as a student and as a youth.
As I think of the future the picture comes to my mind where one day I will be a father and my son will reach this stage and enjoy his life too. I think of his life and I want to advice him so that he will be a good son.
I would advice him thus:
My dear son, I still remember the day when you stepped into this world. The soft touch of your hand made me so happy. When you began to walk you held my finger and learnt to walk. Your cry sounded like laughter to me. Your innocent play and mischief made me forget the world. I enjoyed your soft legs climbing over my tummy. Those happy jumps on my lap dragged me to a world of fantasy.
Days will not remain the same dear son. You will start to grow up and you will start developing friendships; do not join hands with those who lead you towards bad company. Remember, I’m here and I will be your best friend. Do not feel diffident or scared to say that you are falling in love. I will be next to you guiding you on your way.
When I grow old, you will be doing well in life. My request is that wherever you are, whatever you are, do not forget this best friend. Though I’m old, hold my hand and give me the memory of those days when you were a kid and I was holding your hand and helping you walk. Give me a little care and love and to my wife. Do not make your parents your foot dust. When I go away from this world kiss on my forehead and send me so that I will leave behind all the good memories to you.
