Folks who share blood relations with us are generally considered our own people who would be there for us in all situations of life to love, care and provide that much-needed emotional comfort. Apart from those to whom we are related by birth or enter into marital institution, we come across a number of people to whom we get attached automatically and create some of the most treasured moments.
We trust them blindly. Share the biggest secrets of our lives. Laugh, play, tease, irritate and fight for silly reasons and again get back to them with more love and affection. They are there for us anytime and anywhere to celebrate our joys and lift up our spirit when it’s low. All in all we genuinely love them and never let them go. Those lovely and cheerful people who colour our lives in million ways are our ‘FRIENDS’. They are the relatives we make for ourselves.
A true friend is the greatest of all the blessings. Friends are like Walls. Sometimes you lean on them and sometimes it’s just enough to know that they are there. They are like rainbows who brighten our lives after we have gone through a storm. A caring and real friend will walk in when rest of the world walks out.
For Swathi Rai who is a working lady, her friends are a major part of her life without whom she just can’t imagine spending the happiest moments of her life. “I have some of the best people on earth as my friends, who shower their love and care in numerous ways. I’m more attached to them than to my relatives and can’t afford to lose them for any reason,” she says.
Indeed, friends make a lot of difference in all of our lives. It is one relation which has no barriers of age, caste, gender, societal norms and so on. Friendship can happen between anyone, anywhere and if the understanding between the friends is strong the relation lasts forever and ever.
Sharol Rodrigues who is doing her Masters in Pharmacy says the best part of a true friendship is the complete trust and faith you can place in your friend that he/she will be there for you at all times, to reach out to you and give you a helping hand, to lend you a shoulder to lean or cry in times of sorrow, advice you when your in trouble, and smile with you in times of joy and happiness.
Respecting each other’s views, keeping in regular touch even if you’re miles away, being there for each other at good or bad times and loving the person as your own family member are some of the traits of good friends. It is not always necessary to converse every day with your close friend but absence of longer periods and being indifferent to what is going on in your friend’s life can strain the relation which most people fail to realize.
In the modern days it is observed that not all youth maintain good friendships. Having many number of friends’ to hang out and party with has just become a trend but in the process many fail to realize the need for a real caring friend. Rarely can we find friendships parallel to Jai-Veeru or Krishna-Kuchela. Taking out some time out of our busy lives for our friends and having a chat, a cup of coffee is of no harm. After all at the end it is not the other materialistic things that matter but how many friends we had who loved us for the way we were.
Make Your Friends Feel Special Today
It’s the first Sunday of August this year and it’s a special day dedicated to your friends. So undoubtedly it is the best day to make your lovable friends feel special. Wherever they are give them a small call, or send a beautiful mail. If you’re in the habit of writing letters do that today. If you’re friends are staying close by ask them to meet you and spend some light moments. Tell them that they mean a lot to you and trust me they will love it.
Friendship is a beautiful gift that gives our heart a lift, a blessing we just cannot do without, because friendship is what living is all about… Happy friendship day…!!
