Never Parted...

Never Parted

You walked with me once; those days were few,

And many say that you no longer do,

I don’t believe in what they say,

For that would simply lead to dismay.

You’re still there; I can feel you here now,

Don’t ask me where, don’t ask me how.

But I can see you in the stars at night,

I can feel your eyes glinting through their light.

The raindrops are kisses, short and sweet,

Promises of more as soon as we meet,

I know you bless me and I know you still smile,

Even though we’ve been apart for quite awhile.

I know you would mind, but sometimes I still cry,

I think of the day when you said goodbye,

Sometimes I wish that I could come to you,

And together, our troubles would be very few.

Sometimes I smile, because you tell me in your ways,

How you’re still around me, together and always,

Be it that wind, ruffling my hair as you did,

Whispering, ‘not forever are we parted.’

Sometimes, it’s that wish granted, so dear to me,

Sometimes you show me what I really want to see,

Sometimes things happen, otherwise unreal,

Slow occurrences speed up in a whirl,

Some say that it’s luck, some say that it’s usual,

Some just laugh and say it’s perfectly normal,

But I smile in my heart, as I know better,

And in the silence, I can hear your resounding laughter.

Miracles have happened; you protected my falls,

You heeded our silent, mourning calls,

You’ve asked Him for blessings for us in abundance,

All this, I know, can never be chance.

Three years it’s been, since you’ve been gone,

Sometimes I feel low and quite forlorn,

Then I look up, and then I smile,

For I know that you’re up there; mirroring mine.

Dear Alric, Congratulation ! Nice to hear about the-awards of "Academic Excellence" and "Outstanding Student of the year". You have narrated beautifully your mothers love & and how you feel after loosing her. The pain you have expressed in your poems reminds few lines...A son crying in pain for the mother he never knew, Her days spent with him are but only few. In other poem...So here's to a cleaner and healthier Planet our mother Earth. I remembered few lines from Eliza cooks Poem....I miss thee, my Mother! Thy image is still The Deepest impressed on my heart . Alric keep writing. WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.
