Ever thought of it?
Oops! The road traffic that keeps heating your seats for an hour and a half for the distance that is not beyond 5 kms, The Garden city turning to be a Garbage city, heaps of plastic buzzing with flies, finding road in the pits, the clouds of smoke and dust that start at Seven in the morning and end only when its mid day in US, The street dogs that follow you until they hear the creaky noise of your door latch shutting behind you, ‘Houseful buses’, Overflowing, brimming and swarming population, sky rocking prices running at hyper speed and ‘The Diamond Water Paradox’ crawling salary. ENOUGH! I call it as a Chaos.
Total chaos and confusion. Only the Fastest and the Fittest Survive in this Rat Race.
BUT! (A huge ‘but’ rather) We Celebrate Chaos! We celebrate it to the fullest. It’s not because we enjoy the celebration but because we are used to it, because we love every moment we live and because we’ll not survive without celebrating it!
Do you ever get time to read news paper at home? ‘Two States’ of Chetan Bhagat is pending? We enjoy it the more in a Traffic jam. The time for reading, review, discussion and internalizing. One enjoys it the most when in the Company cab. Forgot to comb hair? Apply lipstick? Do it now in the traffic! Talk gossip, ‘Make some time’ for self, listen to music, day dream, feel and enjoy the ‘gorgeous’ sitting next to you, time for ‘sms love’ so on and so forth. A truly productive life one can have in Bangalore is only at a traffic jam. We celebrate traffic jam!
The nasty heaps of garbage make you happy? OMG! Never… But it does make a difference in thousands of people's life. Recently the Municipal government recognized hundreds of ‘rag pickers’ as the contributors to a ‘Clean City’. I wonder how the government recognized them. It’s really appreciable. They earn in hundreds per day to run their family of 4,5,6…. They literally pray not to clear the garbage! But it’s very clear, they are not beggars but they are bread winners. They live and let live. Have you ever realized that a clown or a joker is a ‘performer’ to himself? Being clown or a clown is secondary; it’s our attitude and it doesn’t affect his ‘Performance’. We generate revenue out of garbage!
Sky rocking prices, Mounting EMI’s, crawling salaries rock you? When try to you pull it to cover your feet it doesn’t cover your head and vice versa. But I firmly say this kind of situation brings best out of one’s life. It makes you stronger and a Multi Tasker! You’ll try to be creative to generate extra income; you’ll have some of your ‘own’ businesses to ‘manage’ full covering. One will face any situation to earn an extra amount. Resulting in developing a ‘mouth of a pig’ (to eat what is served) ‘back of a bull’ (to sleep wherever there’s an opportunity) and ‘back of a bull’ (to face any situation) and above all makes you grow to a situation where you’ll be able ‘to get into others shoes’ and be sensitive and selfless. We celebrate rocking prices and crawling salaries!
Noisy roads, crowded places do not make you get sleep? It’s just the matter of some weeks for beginners! You’ll miss it when you’re back home for a week long leave after a long time. You’ll realize how hard it is to sleep without the buzzing noise and the sound of horn that is played in the background.
The only thing we do not celebrate is the stray dogs which count as many as 1 for every 32 residents of Bangalore. The news that you hear about stray dog attacks every now and then runs rivers of sweat in the ‘tunnels’. Wait a minute! We celebrate even that! The houses with lone dwellers are guarded by these dogs at night! The areas ‘affected’ more by these dogs never report theft of burglary! We celebrate it.
Missing horse riding? Boat riding? Trekking? Back massage? Morning exercise? Yoga? Feeling lazy? Sleepy before reporting to the office? There’s a solution. Travel on our roads. They provide you with immense rich experience. To be very naughty just spend some time every single two wheeler rider riding through the pits and falls on the road. Be it men or…..
We celebrate many inequalities too, we don’t mind to be the part of 80% population enjoying only 20% of the total wealth, whereas we just shut every opening of our being even when we know 80% of the wealth lies in the hands of just 20% of the people.
We celebrate discrimination of any kind, we celebrate communal violence, we celebrate nasty politics and fishy policies, we celebrate deaths, and we celebrate sorrows.
Do we celebrate all these because we live in a country where we are forced to live in that way? No! We celebrate nothing clean, neat and tidy but we celebrate everything that is unjust and unfavourable, in other words ‘the chaos’, because if we had loved the former we wouldn’t have loved the latter and we would have strived for best practice and change the situation around us.
