The democracy in India will flourish when voters take their rights and duties seriously. The election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly is a great indication that the voters in Karnataka have become more responsible. The results show that the people have understood what democracy is and have voted against a corrupt and irresponsible government. No factors like Modi will work in the presence of a responsible voter.
The voter turnout gave an indication that the people of our country will no more be silent spectators against any kind of fundamental and sectarian behavior of the elected representatives. Yesterday's results was a positive indicator for a secular and free nation.
The citizens of our state would like to have a corruption-free government. Therefore they have not given to Congress party a two thirds majority and made the opposition strong. But definitely it is the young people who have voted for a free and fearless atmosphere in the state as against fear filled moral policing, attacks on minorities and Dalits and women. Henceforth the young people can walk freely without any fear or fire.
It is an indication that the Congress government cannot forget the poor and the downtrodden. The people of Coastal Karnataka have voted out the BJP for the simple reason that all the splinter groups of the party were trying Hitlerisation of the peaceful and peace loving people of Coastal region. Some may say all happened because of Yeddyurappa but all the votes secured by BJP and KJP put together they will not make any difference.
Watch out Congress party, you need to be responsible and give a clean and corrupt free administration, lift up the poor and the lowly, fight for justice, uphold the liberation of women. If more chances were given to the women their representation would have been better. Only the Cogrees can boast of two women in the Legislative Assembly.
