Mother! Tribute to Thee

May 11, 2013

(May 12 is Mother's Day)

 Mother! Tribute to Thee

You endured the ultimate pain

Without a word of rue or complain

To grant me the worldly bliss

You nurtured me without remiss

Your cuddle made me feel secure

When the world for me was still obscure

You were the only one I could trust

On you my life I had thrust

You bore my tantrums with a smile

Never paused or rested even for a while

Sleepless nights is what I rewarded you

The extent of trouble inflicted, I have no clue

During arduous times you were my solace

You were my strength when I lagged behind in life’s race

You were the force behind my every success

When a failure I was, your love went nothing less

Your needs and aspirations saw a back seat

Just to allow me achieve my feat

Innumerable sacrifices you made each moment

To give me an imposing life, dignified and decent

Nothing in this world can suffice

To repay you for your love and sacrifice

I humbly pray to the almighty above

To give me strength to shower you with the deserving love.

Thank You friends for your comments......Mother is an invaluable gift each one of us is gifted with. Yet she is the most taken for granted person in our lives. We realize her worth only when we are separated from her. The saying that 'God could not be everywhere, hence He made mother' is so very true, for only a mother can reflect God.

You gave me the best present ever, the gift of life.
I will never forget the unconditional love you showered me.
You were my shield, my comfort and my guide.
And even today, you are twinkling there as my Guardian Angel.

You brought tears in my eyes again, Annie, for the invaluable treasure I have lost despite my best efforts.
