Cry of an Ill Man

Cry of an Ill Man

I'm an ill man in a well man's world
"Age is just a number “ the story got sold
Haters utter “it’s your time to go, you are old"
Hopeless words of men are forcing me to stay cold

Aging, does it mean close to dying?
Moving towards the grave, is it growing?
The answers aren't much satisfying
I'm left with only a choice of grieving

Everyone declared me terminally ill
For them the hopes of seeing me well are nil
A lot of life is remaining in me still
I'm an ill man under the burden of mounting hospital bill

Day by day losing control all over my body
From eating to eliminating I have turned needy
Body is slowing, miseries are growing
Only my mind is actively moving

I'm aware of the hugs of hospital blankets
Pain therapy of those needles
Touch of curious words of friends
Warmth of helpless relatives

At the time of caring, no one is daring,
to allocate time, energy and funding
Doctors signal low expectations
Close ones show gloomy faces of exhaustion

Wrinkled skin free from marks of sin
Spirit of life from host of body preparing to run
End journey is free from all the fun
Everyone is dying, now it's my turn

It's inspiring to shout, ‘born to fly'
While hiding the truth, ‘born to die'
The illness is waiting for me to say final good bye
How can I fight to prolong my right of staying alive?

The final costumes are waiting
Garlands of flowers ready for decorating
Clergies are coming for last blessing,
to my body that will soon loose it's feeling

Listen carefully, the ill man is saying
Mindfully enjoy life while experiencing
Discover the world, speak your word
Love, live, give and forgive as a kind human being.
