Cash is King, but We are not Slaves

July 1, 2020

My father used to tell me that a good job is necessary for everyone but it should depend on happiness you get from your work and not on money you get. Money is just a number which will come from one way and go from another. Of course money is necessary for everyone in this world to survive but it’s not everything.... I feel those words are so true.

Money is like sea water, the more you drink the thirstier you become. There won't be any end for it. It is true that money has power and it talks, meaning money has influence in our society. Money plays such an important role in present society where most of the things are happening only because of its influence. People are being valued and judged by the amount of money in their pocket. A bundle of notes has the power to make one blind and turn people into puppets. If one forgets about the relation then another will forget about the difference between right and wrong. Sometimes the situation forces the person to choose a wrong path.

Really, money isn't everything. There are many things which money can never buy like happiness, trust, love, peace, good relations and so on, which are more important for one to lead a good life. Those make him feel life and enjoy each moment of it. Without these things, money alone will make life meaningless. But now the situation is, if you have money everyone will find reasons to be with you and if you don't have money everyone will find excuses to be far from you! There are people who judge love by the gifts given to them. Of course, there are people who can feel the hidden love behind each small gift.

In our society marriage is beautiful and an important occasion in one’s life. It decides the future of two lives, along with the togetherness of two families. However, here also money plays its tricks. As the groom's family takes a look on the property and wealth of a bride, on another hand the bride's family is more considered upon status and salary of groom. Is it enough for a marriage? Love, trust, understanding between the groom and bride don't have any role? There may be many exceptional cases, but still I am puzzled with such questions. How can money become so powerful to wipe out everything else?

Cash is real king but now it has become the root of all evils. Many people are able to see the reality but they become blind in front of money. Even though people have a luxurious life there are many who are not happy in their life because they face a lack of many other things which encourage a human to live a peaceful life.

In today’s world, the life of a human being is controlled by non-living things like money. Realize that shrouds have no pockets where you can keep money and use it after death. Let’s join the exceptions. Make money as your second priority and love, happiness, togetherness especially humanity should be your first. One may not bring any changes but unity works a lot. Let’s use money properly, let’s never become too busy in making money where you forget about your own life.

Money should always be your slave and let it follow you.

Well written dear Shravya, You have chosen a subject which plays a great role in Indias weddings, and many women suffer and many marraiges are splitted. In future I hope girls should take a bold step to say NO to such offers.Marry a man who loves as you are ,not with gold and money. There are incidents where people had lot of money then were fed up ,had no happiness,so left behind everything ,went to lonely place to live a simple life without hectic ,only with basic things, and found they were more happier in life than before. We want to hear more from you ,have a nice day.

Dear Shravya V,You have a wonderful writing skill and I wish to read many more of your articles. I am not much impressed with the content.I fully agree with Mr.Melroy's comments. We see the world with an amalgamation of three things-beliefs, experiences and knowledge. In addition to this we have our evolutionary brain biases which influence our thoughts, behavior and decisions. These are my sincere suggestions to you to add up high value to your content.

We have put money and job on the pedestal rather than living a peaceful and content life! We are born into this world to celebrate life with the great talent given to each one of us! But in today's world, we have lost our way due to the greed for money (wealth), power, and flesh! And the only renewal of mind away from greed can bring us out from the current chaos we face! Well written Shravya and I hope many will get inspired by your article to look into the current life they are living!

    Dear Shravya,
Yes, absolutely right. Money should be our slave always.. We should be the king not money. As you mentioned in the article, money cannot buy true happiness, love, relationship etc. If money can give us all these, then it will be for only short period. We shouldn't for what our ancestors said 'Anybody can be a rich in anytime...and vice versa..'
So better we all should live by keeping this in our mind.

Good write up. Also Holy Scripture is very clear about money.

    Dear Shravya,

Money matters a little more after globalization. It has entered between relations, humanity, etc. A timely reminder to keep it as a slave to lead a happier life. Good one
