A warrior. A coward. A believer

I was lost in the middle of nowhere,
Drifting on a small boat,
In the waters of an unforgiving sea.
In the pitch darkness of the night,
The waves trashed and crashed,
Turning my entire world upside down
And leaving me insensate.
I woke up suddenly gasping for air,
When I felt my lungs drinking salt and pain,
I came above to the surface only to again
Inhale salt and danger,
I couldn’t dive deeper nor go up higher.
I was stuck in two different worlds.
The excruciating pain made its way
From the root-tips of my hair to the cuticles of my toes,
Taking every second it could to,
To seep deeper and deeper into my skin
And reach the shattering soul within,
And when it sought its destiny,
It wrapped me in comfortable arms,
So long I wondered if I would die.
I was, wasn’t I?
I let it happen so slowly and now I am a part of it.
All of that happened and was going to happen, I would be a part of it.
I would see my soul shatter and again build itself like a Phoenix does.
May be I’m a Warrior.
May be I’m a Coward.
May be I’m just a Lost Cause for Him now.

But I know He will still save me. He is a witness to all this, like I am. And one day, when I’m really gone, my soul will search for His and submerge in His when found. May be my cause was to be Lost and Found in Him.

    Nice poem!

Our souls are restless until they find rest in Him, The Eternal One.

Saint Augustine states “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”
