Tribute to Lawrence D'Souza
September 29, 1955 - August 21, 2020
Lawrence, a man of great stead, winner of hearts, extremely social, master of ceremonies at every social gathering, compassionate, religious, sharp memory for names,a people man, dedicated, practical and many more qualities which he exhibited during his long stay of 64 years on earth, touching lives.
Abraham Lincon once said, "In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years." This line signifies his life, the love and leadership he brought to EPCORN through the years.
Over 4 decades of being part of EPCORN, walking the memorable journey from a sales executive, to being the CEO through these 42 years he touched many lives, stayed in many hearts and minds, from industry icons to simple people, over the years the organisation’s identity became synonymous with your name becoming inseparable. He worked alongside the founding team, building the organisation from days to years, becoming the GO TO PERSON for most things and for almost all staff members across INDIA.
What will be missed is the warm smile, all the invaluable jokes and proverbs at all office events, youthful spirit at all picnics and outdoor activities, selfless gestures, compassion in simple things, spirited response to work, dedication to serve his clients, numerous hours spent in counselling team mates, giving a listening ear, training new comers with just not work but tips on living life to the fullest and balance life, his smile when you speak of tea, his love for spirit and good times.
He either mastered the art over years or was gifted naturally to dive deep into the heart of individuals he met, the relations he built lasted beyond business, brewing over years to become memorable, his frank and hearty ways always won him not just contracts but relations, always remembered for his grey hair.
His journey at EPCORN, the travails and hardships he trekked, making inroads far and wide of INDIA, building the brand to its current success and building relations over the years, his dedication and loyalty to his clients earned him not only respect within the company but with clients across INDIA.
From celebrities, politicians, industrialists, artists, across he was treated with more love than just respect for who he was rather than what he did. Within the industry fraternity, he served the brethren for over 20 years at various levels, giving selfless assistance and guidance to new comers and experienced hands earning the title “GENTLEMAN”. Not one member ever gave a negative remark on his ways, earning him a seat at executive counsel each time he contested.
With the Quadros Family, he was more than just CEO, he was family, a brother to Felix, his relations were not of blood but of heart and love.
Stelson: "He was like a father to me, at work, hand holding me the fine points, teaching me life and work during the numerous journeys we had in trains, platforms, airports, drives, walks. When time came he spoke to me of life, guided me, counselled me and made sure i was always on the right path. Sharing dreams and giving love and care all through. Even on the last day he made sure to give his counsel on life and hapiness.”
Flavian: "You were just like dad for me, As a child, ive watched you talk to clients, close deals with just your smile and rapport. You built lasting relationships more than just doing business. Ive learnt so much from you, just by watching you. Your warm hug and priceless smile, concern and encouragement in every phone call is never gonna leave me and your absence will have this void that no one can ever fill."
EPCORN will miss you at its 50th year, for all days and nights to come, your smile and stead will be missed. We fall short of words today, to express the grief we feel and the void which will be permanent, our heart will be heavy with this loss on all days, a feeling which will never heal.
We at EPCORN will never be the same without you Lawrence Sir. You were the epitome of hard work and selfless giving put together.
You will be irreplaceable and missed.
You will always be with us in spirit, always remembered for your teaching which will be passed down in years to come.
From,
EPCORN FAMILY
