Dream is a familiar word which is a blessing to the humans only in the universe. But we cannot predict as other creatures will also be having their dreams. Except humans, all other creatures’ brain is limited only up to resolve their hunger and recreation. Thus, we could consider out of all that God created, human is the highest as we thus know God created human being in his own image and likeness.
So what are dreams and how can we categorise their importance? Will dreams impact our achievement? Everyone born in this earth will have his own dreams. If we ask children, some might tell of becoming something in life (Eg:- Lawyer, Doctor, Businessman, Priest etc……) and elders surely will dream about the bright future of their children.
It is pretty easy to build up a dream but needs much effort to fulfil it. However, very few will be able to achieve their dreams, if not all at least few of them.
When we talk about dreams, what normally come to our mind are the dreams we have during sleep. On few occasions, the incidents which take place on the day or an event which might happen on the next day might come up in our dreams. These dreams are just the brain consolidating as we think of much about it due to which our mind works much on that. It might be entertaining, funny, romantic, disturbing, frightening etc, depending on the circumstances. It is thought that each dream lasts between 5 to 20 minutes. For example, during exam, students may dream about course content. People in a relationship may dream of their partner. A person who has a job interview might dream of his getting or losing his job.
Studies of brain activity suggest that most people over the age of 10 years dream between 4 to 6 times each night, but some people rarely remember dreaming. It is often said that 5 minutes after a dream, people have forgotten 50 percent of its content, increasing to 90 percent another 5 minutes later.
The dreams can be categorized into 2 main parts as below:
1) Major dreams - It is the target or the aim person has and strives to fulfil it.
2) Secondary dreams - Are the dreams one has during sleep.
However, we will focus on major dreams.
There is a proverb, “The dreams are not going to be reality which we see during sleep. To really make it happen, we must give up our sleep.”
If I would say write at least 10 dreams in a diary and see how fast you can write, you may write 2 or 3 with immediate effect and later we will struggle because we have not dreamed to a wide extent rather we are in limitation. We have full freedom to have unlimited dreams and fulfilment in the same way. Writing dreams in a diary, should we make it mandatory as we might ignore that it is in our mind? No. It should be in the book which makes a lot of difference and 10% more effective and positive to reach the target.
How to fulfil the written dreams? Start writing priority wise, plan and work on it. Well begun is half done. In the name of God with prayers and our effort, we will be able to succeed. If I would say myself, out of my 10 dreams, I am on my way towards the fifth to fulfil shortly as 4 are already done and hence I thought of having the right to share with you. There should be no word of tiredness while chasing dreams. A success person says, “We have no right to rest till we fulfil our dreams.”
Positive thought leads to positive result. We need to have trust in God and self confidence within ourselves. Success and result is in our hands.
Let us build up dreams and build a good family, good parish, good society, good nation and a good universe.
God Bless You all.
