Can you digest/reconcile to This Picture and That?

May 28, 2022

Nayi-Nayik page; Jaati-Jaatic page (A Tulu saying)

(Dogs/dogs hate and fight; Religions/castes hate and fight).

This old saying has acquired new dimensions, the latest being education and language. The latest controversy being new inclusions in the latest school text books and deletions of old texts is a new controversy in Karnataka and is likely to spread to other States with students and parents helplessly watching from the sidelines.

Deletion of some topics and chapters are defended as correction/deletion of historic wrong by party/minister in power while defenders of the status quo call it ill-disguised safronisation. The content and language used in this controversy are so crude that I would avoid polluting Daiji’s pages by hosting details which a normal reader of newspapers are exposed to on a daily basis. I would rather conclude with an optimistic note with a quotation from Abraham Lincoln (1809 –Assassinated 1865), an American lawyer and statesman who served as 16th President of United States.

No matter how much the cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens”.

May the cats show the way to our contentious confrontationists.

The subject is open to many views. What are yours? Your response is welcome in the format given below. (Pl. scrawl down a bit)

Once again, welcome to reason.
