My 50 Days

January 10, 2025

I was excited about the prospect of entering a classroom when I initially learned about my teaching internship, but anxiety soon followed. Being a teacher, imparting knowledge and motivating pupils, had always been my ambition, but the reality seemed intimidating. Would I be able to relate to my students? Would I be able to manage the duties? My mind was racing with these questions as I got ready for this new journey.

I felt like a new chapter in a novel I had been wanting to read for a long time when I finally made it to the school. It was both exhilarating and daunting to be surrounded by such a lively atmosphere, full of laughing and learning. I had high hopes of developing captivating lessons and positively influencing my pupils’ lives. With these I entered to the new place.

My 50-day internship was one of the most exciting experiences I’ve had at the school. As I entered the strange corridors of the school, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension, and I had no idea what to expect. I had no idea that these 50 days would be such a transforming experience for me, challenging, inspiring, and helping me grow both personally and professionally.

Initially, it was difficult to adjust to school and living away from home. It was full of new experiences, such as figuring out how the school was laid out and learning about the curriculum and classroom dynamics. I saw the students’ diverse backgrounds and the distinct obstacles they faced. Every day, I grew in confidence and developed myself. As I adapted to my new role, I established a routine, formed relationships with my coworkers, and learnt about the school culture. The students began to open up, sharing their experiences, struggles, and accomplishments.

I’m filled with pride, success, and thankfulness. My experience as an intern teacher in a new school, along with my first stay in a hostel, was transforming, allowing me to find my talents, passions, and purpose. I learned to be adaptable and inventive in my teaching. Building positive relationships with children and staff was critical, as was improving my lesson planning and classroom management skills. I am excited to use the knowledge, skills, and principles I learned during my internship to my future undertakings, and I am confident that this experience will help shape me into a more effective, empathic, and enthusiastic educator. It was an unforgettable experience.

Hello Gayathri’, Congratulations for having had a successful and a wonderful experience in the beginning journey of your intern teacher life. It’s a great impact and footprints you will be leave on the students mind and life. I am happy that you had got so many days of teaching experience internship. When we were at Aloysius doing B.Ed we had very limited days of Practice in teaching exposure. Keep educating students about the social needs and their role for themselves and the society. We can transform them to any greater heights. All the best. Ravi Kumar M(B.Ed 3rd Batch at Aloysius) Graduate Primary School Teacher Anekal Town Bengaluru
