Mangalore, May 9: Karnataka Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, announced that a sum of two crore rupees will be provided as government grant for the development of Guruvana Durga Temple, which is a part of Kedekar Lord Mallikarjuna Temple complex in Jappinamogeru here. He was speaking after taking part in the religious and cultural programmes organized on the night of Sunday May 8, in connection with the consecration, Brahmakalashotsava, and Ashtapavitra Nagamandalotsava at the said temple complex.

“One crore rupees will be sanctioned towards the construction of an auditorium being built here at a cost of five crore rupees. Public money cannot be wasted by the chief minister by way of donations to temples. The tax payers money must be used for the benefit of the society. If any one wants to donate money to any place of worship, let him do so from his personal money and NOT from public funds. Right thinking people must raise their voice in protest against such foolish wastage of public funds.

People of India have become blind due to religion!!!
Christians and Muslims blaming Hindus , Hindus blaming Christians and Muslims !!!
These things have been an ongoing issue from a very long time and this is the reason culprits slip away in the name of the religion!!!

Now the real issue keeping aside the religion of Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa-
The real question IMMATERIAL to a Hindu giving Two Crore Rupees to a temple or a Christian giving money to the Church or the Muslim giving money to the Mosque is " WHOSE MONEY IS THE CM GIVING AWAY " ???
Im sure its not his hard earned money !! Cause with his own hardwork , forget about donating this kind of money , A normal person could not even imagine saving this kind of money even if he works day and night for his whole lifetime !!!!!!!!!!!!

To get away from all the controversies ,people like Amar , Akbar and Anthony are used as puppets !!!

    Wake up India !!!

Temples, masjIds, dargahs, churches or gurudwaras or basadis dont require any donations, They are rich and self sufficient. In karnataka poor farmers are committing suicide. Let the excess money collected from any religious institutions be spent on poor and people of karnataka. Please nationalise all rich religious places like temples, churches and dargahs and let the proceed go to the needy. Then only the Gods shall be pleased. Kereya neeru kerege chelli. Here its not the question of hindu, muslim and christian but a matter of principle

Mr. Varun very well said.. Excellent
Mr. peter, ITS NOT YOU ALONE PAY TAXES, WE HINDUS TOO PAY TAXES
And you expect that the tax money which you pay should be utilized for the development of the country- agreed,
SAME WAY WE HINDUS CLAIM THAT TEMPLE FUNDS TAKEN BY THE GOVT SHOULD BE UTILIZED FOR TEMPLE AND FOR WELFARE OF THE DEVOTEES.ANY GOVT WHETHER ITS BJP, CONG, JD OR ANYONE.

Mr. Fredrick Castelino & others, you should be very well aware that money donated by the devotees at hindu temples goes directly to govt (except very few temples like Dharmasthala). I hope you must be knowing that it is not the case in Mosques and Churches. Govt provide very good assistance to Haj pilgrims & it also provides facilities to Churches. If the govt donate a small amount of money back to temples (few % collected by the temple itself) do you have any problem? This is the fact. A foreigner journalist (I don't remember his name) has written an article about this discrimination in Times of India some time back.

I hope that the money donated to temples is from the pockets of CM. Otherwise he would not have wasted the public tax money on the temples. Donations may be given to churches and mosques also who are also paying tax to the Government. I never come across any news in the newspapers that the CM has donated any little money to the churches and mosques. He may be thainking that the donated money is the tax paid by hindus only in Karnataka. Mr. CM, please donate some amount to churches and mosques also in future.

Why anyone should be peeved when Yeddy donates money to the temples? He's not donating the money either for the good of the temple or because he has a special liking to the priests. He is only trying to bribe the gods so that his govt completes its term. There is no one in better position than Yeddy to understand that only the gods can save his govt as of now. And only the way he can please these gods is by bribing them.

But he too is tied up with the auditing procedures, taxation etc. No auditor will accept 'bribe' as expenditure. But 'donation' can very well sit both in 'expenditure' of auditors and 'charity' books detractors. He's literally an 'old-man-in-hurry'. He has only a little time left to please all possible gods that he 'knows' since he hardly knows when the next election will be. Going by the situation in KarnatakaiIt could be next year or next month. Moreover why should he donate to the unknown 'gods' that are perched in churches and mosques? Just like the devotess that gather in churches and mosques, the gods that are seated in these places too do not support Yeddy whereas the devotees that throng the temples as well as the gods sitting within support Yeddy.

Yeddy bhai go with your 'Yeddigiri' or else you won't be able to withstand the dadagiri of Reddigaru and a few Cheddi-guru. Only option to escape from the onslaught of Reddys, Cheddys is seeking shelter under gods' feet So please don't trample the one who has already been kicked off!Ek choti si guzarish!

We all know there are more critical problems in the state to be addressed. Crores of rupees on temples??? Such tactics is only to win the vote bank of the majority, what a waste of tax payers money. People dont have a proper roof to stay under, who will control such ministers and unnecessary expenditure.

Who has given right to Yeddyurappa to pay/grant money to temple where else he is using tax payers money. Temples and other religious places has sufficient fund and does not need burden for exchecker. Appreciate Yeddyurappa to pay money from his personal account as CM is filty rich from looted money
