Udupi, May 10: Well-known Maddale exponent with a large fan following, Prabhakar Gore (52), breathed his last on Monday May 9. His health had worsened after he met with an accident near Kunjibettu recently. Gore is survived by wife and two sons.

Prabhakar Gore had joined Karnataka Yakshagana Mela, after well-known Bhagawat, Damodar Mandechcha, inspired him to do so. He worked with this troupe for 28 years. After serving Mangaladevi Mela for five years, for the last six years, he was with Yedaneeru Mela. He was also an expert at playing another percussion instrument, tabla. He was known for new experiments and bringing in subtle changes in playing these instruments, which made him immensely popular.

Sincere Condolence to the bereaved family. May His Soul Rest in Peace. May GOD give his Family the inner strength to bear this grief and loss.

Shri Prabhakar Gore's absence will not only be felt by his family and Shri Dinesh Ammanaya (to whom Shri Gore assisted as a Percussionist in Yakshagana for a major part of Ammanaya's yakshagana career) but also by many Yakshagana fans.
