Mangaluru, Oct 2: The newly constructed St Sebastian Auditorium was inaugurated at Permannur on Tuesday November 1.
The programme began with thanksgiving Mass presided by Msgr Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangalore diocese. Later, the newly constructed high mask light was inaugurated by Msgr Maxim Noronha.
The crowd later proceeded to the inauguration of the newly constructed auditorium.
The newly constructed St Sebastian Auditorium was inaugurated by the renowned physician Dr U C S Bhat in the premises of St Sebastian Church, Permannur. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore blessed the auditorium and presided over the programme. Addressing the gathering, he said, “This auditorium is the fruit of faith and love. It will help be a testimonial for religious unity. Nothing is impossible for God, in faith everything is possible. This auditorium is the great sign of faith.”
MLAs U T Khader and D Vedavyas Kumar solemnized the programme as the chief guests. On this occasion, both the MLAs and the family of Dr U C S Bhat were honored with great and due respect by the bishop and Fr J B Saldanha, parish Priest of St Francis Xavier Church Bejai.
Chandrahas and Haji Rashid as well as Chitrakala Chandrakanth, president of Ullal City Municipal Council along with Basil D’Souza and Veena D’Souza, councilors, superiors Sr Joseph Mary BS (Bethel Convent Permannur) and Sr Alphonca (Nirmala Convent Ullal) graced the programme with their presence. The auditorium souvenir was released to mark this occasion. The lucky coupon draw and the parish ward leaders as well as all those who rendered their help either through kind or deed were honored by giving memento.
Fr Cyprian Pinto, parish priest of St Sebastian Church welcomed the gathering with his warm and kind words.
Maurice Montero, vice president of the Parish Council of St Sebastian Church, Permannur thanked everyone.
Ronald Fernandes and Cynthia D’Souza compered the programmed.
The programme ended with dinner.
