Udupi: Displaying meat in roadside shops might negatively impact children’s mind - Pejawar seer

Daijiworld Media network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Jan 11: Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math has insisted to avoid the hanging of meat for public display by roadside shops as it would negatively impact the minds of children.

Speaking to reporters Swamiji said, “The education minister had called all the religious leaders of all the faiths to discuss about moral education in schools. Everyone expressed their views. We have given suggestions for the maintenance of peace and tranquillity of the society. Children should not be exposed to the things which we do not want them to be exposed. Animal slaughter should never be done before children. This should be followed in homes too. It is not morally correct to hang blood filled meat in roadside shops. This might impact the children’s mind in a negative way if they are being exposed to such scenes continuously.”

Speaking about the food habits to be followed by children, he said, “Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian have ‘sattvic’ and ‘tamas’ qualities. Children should not be given food which can destabilize their minds. They should be served food which will incise good thoughts. I have not spoken against non-vegetarian food. Cartoons are liked by children. Moral education should be taught through cartoons and a separate class should also be conducted. Skits and dramas will also help in conducting such activities.”

In a recently held meeting on introducing moral education in schools, the Swamiji had opined that meat should not be hanged in the roadside shops as it would negatively impact the children’s mind. This had led to much controversy and uproar.

Well he's not entirely wrong, when kids see meat hanging out like that kids might have negative impact on animal cruelty also its kind of unhygienic that shops keep the meet open where toxic air gets attached to the meat

I don't agree with anyone interfering in some one else's food habits. At the same time I agree with this seer's statement. When children see carcasses of large bovines or any animals, skinned and hanging on a hook on a daily basis, they lose that sensitivity. Me and my sister, both never were able to savour the chicken curry whenever chicken was killed in front of us or even if we see the chicken being cleaned. That sensitive we both were. But as we grew old, Sister was assisting mother in household works, she started cleaning and cooking the chicken..she started eating without any hesitation. She was able to kill the chicken, cook and eat the same. But as I was not introduced that forte of cooking, I still can't eat chicken if I clean the chicken. But I enjoy KFC and chicken curries. This is how individuals lose sensitivity. When children lose it in early stages, killing an animal or human being will not be different for them when they grow up.

It is always prudent to avoid certain phrases in public for eminent people like Swamiji.... Elder seer who is no more was conducting himself very well... One must be careful after stepping into larger shoes that they step into... He is making himself vulnerable for comments from all sections of society where as he should have a personality that towers above all trivial issues... They say one man's food is another man's poison... LOKOBHINNA RUCHI....

Thus who are you to decide what to eat and what not to eat. Chill Maaden and have some Sushi .. maybe change for the better and understand the point Live and Let Live . If everyone starts eating only vegetables Cores of people Will lose jobs , prices of vegetables will become expensive and there will Be shortage . It’s an eco system which is based on peaceful co existence and is not to be disturbed .

Manpreet, Holy Scripture says all are children of God! Adam and Eve might have many children apart from Abel, Cain. So marriage within sibling initially cannot be ruled out, as long as it's a God's will. As even today God is the third person in marriages represented or solemnized by a Priest or Poojari... And still God provides soul at the conception of every baby, baby's body which planned by God comes from parents (genes.) ///// But Evolution theorist Charles Darwin believed or wanted his father or forefather as an Ape or Gorilla ? Gorilla to man, man to no further changes ? That's why now Bill Gate's DNA modifying injections using CRISPR technology to get genderless Aliens ? but to face God's wrath for fiddling with His human DNA design? So instead of back to stone age, GARDEN OF EDEN again for those who are humble, gentle, kind, peaceful loving, helpful, sharing, caring others, self controlled..!!!

So much depopulation for better control using artificial food shortages, virus, vaccine, lockdowns, fossil fuel shutdowns, digital currencies to further control what one can buy and have, what not, where one can travel, where not, using 5G internet and smart city advance camera system and through smart phone remote controllable electric vehicles along with social (behaviour) credit system and Zero Carbon System, to enslave most of the humanity for their so called climate change emergency! These modify climate using weather modifying HAARP machines and blame execessive rains, floods or high temperature, famine (to create food shortages) on global warming or climate change!! and these elite control normal rich and common people.

The priority should be "swamis' should be properly dressed and not expose themselves. See the Pune swami who is bare naked and people go to bow, touch and venerate his, you know what. Whenever there is a padayatra, people go half naked. So before meat is exposed, cover human flesh first. I know that exposing meat without proper sanitation is harmful, but we will be there in a decade, slow and tardy.

Why vegetarians have to go to the nonveg section of the market, which is always separate? Secondly, even cattle and goats sometimes chew on bones and caracases, instinctively, when they are deficient in calcium and phosphorus! Recently one large group of stray cattle in Goa were found to be eating nonveg food disposed off by hotels and were so habituated that later they were refusing to eat veg food!!

Monty, man was basically a hunters/gatherers! Livestock is reared for human consumption and generalising is inappropriate, though the slaughterers may be using cruel methods for culling the animal! If we think in terms of cruelty, then even eating vegetarian food is cruel because it has been demonstrated scientifically that even plants have emotions, pain sensations, communication methods in a very rudimentary form though; how about cow's milk, which is meant for the calf becomes the#1 source of food for vegetarians??

Religious leaders of all faith should not discuss menial issues like meat in Public or through media. People of India basically require basic education, food, shelter, healthcare and most importantly JOBS to look after their families. Religious leaders must put PRESSURE ON THE GOVERNMENT to provide jobs to people or create employment opportunities so their communities will live in peace.

Now this is new issue from Swamiji what a joke. He has seen meat displayed in the road side shops since his childhood, but it has not negatively impacted his mind. Instead he has become a Swami. To be frank the mind set is changed now along with the present politics. All religious people and politicians has to understand that the present children are born intelligent than earlier, living , learning pattern has to be as per the present world to survive from these bad/wrong ethics.

Swamiji you have right and also not correct in what you say.Children who are growing up in village and in non veg .families mostly face slaughtering from childhood on.So it will not impact much on them .Children who dont have seen that before are sometimes bit uncertian , feel afraid. But they should also learn the daily work at home how to go on later .Meat hanging in shops by road side is not healthy and should be avoided.Shopkeeper must be questioned., when it is not cold ,stored .Should be kept tidy .Health dept is and inspectors have to look for it and in charge not Public.Noone forces someone to do slaughtering.Nowadays it is done in slaughter house .So dont worry about it.Instead just see how humans slaughter one on road the other ,thats very danger and fearing object. Why dont you make some thoughts about it ?and tell your own religion community about it?

Who has proven it? Please don't thrust self studied hypothesis on the gullible public! The display of meat in stalls is not something new, it has been going on since ages! If you have the wherewithal, go after the obscenity, sexuality, and violence depicted in films of all languages, which is the greatest reason for children getting spoiled!!

These are priorities currently. Children are abused, exploited, sexually assaulted, malnourished, poor, doing hard labour, uneducated etc. But hanging of meat harms them. Waah.
