Bantwal: Motorcycle falls into deep gorge, 25-year-old pillion rider dies

Bantwal, Apr 10: A youth of Chikkamagaluru origin died as the motorcycle on which he was riding as a pillion fell into a deep gorge by the road side at Talapady near B C Road Kaikamba.

The deceased is identifed as Yashodhara (25), who was working in a private company in Mangaluru. His friend, rider of the bike, Avinash escaped with minor injuries.

Both Yashodhara and Avinash are employed at City Centre Mall in Mangaluru. They had been to Kola ritual that took place at the house of their friend at Beltangady and were returning at around 3.30 am on Monday April 10, when the mishap occurred.

The motorcycle fell into a deep gorge that is more than 10 feet in depth near KSRTC bus depot at Talapady of B C Road, Kaikamba. A seriously injured Yashodhara was taken to hospital and succumbed to injuries a little while later. The exact reason for the accident is not known.

Melkar traffic police visited the spot and are investigating.
