New Delhi, Sep 1: Prices of commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) have been increased from Tuesday, September 1, in the latest monthly revision by oil marketing companies.
The price of a 5-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 2, from Rs 762 to Rs 764, marking a 0.26 per cent rise, according to IOCL sources cited by ANI.
The increase is expected to raise operating costs for businesses that depend heavily on commercial LPG, including restaurants, hotels, catering services and other commercial establishments.
Meanwhile, ATF prices for domestic airlines have also been raised by Rs 6.28 per litre, from Rs 115 to Rs 121.28 per litre. The increase could add to operating expenses for airlines.
The latest revision comes after commercial LPG prices were reduced during both July and August. In August, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 202 in Delhi and Rs 209 in Kolkata.
In July, oil marketing companies had cut the price of the 19-kg commercial cylinder by Rs 183.50 in Delhi, bringing it down to Rs 2,930.
Commercial LPG prices have undergone several revisions this year amid fluctuations in global energy markets and geopolitical developments. The latest increase is expected to have a direct impact on businesses using LPG extensively for cooking and other operations.
There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders in the latest revision.
