Karwar, April 14: Seetharam Nayak has been preparing and selling varieties of lemon soda special juices for the last 15 years to beat the summer heat. The soda juices are keeping the people cool in the sweltering heat of this coastal district.

Seetharam Nayak sells five varieties of lemonade soda juices and people are eager to know where he is making and selling them. Yes, the lemon soda juices are available on the street behind the DC's office in Karwar. Seetharam Nayak's special lemon soda juice is available at an open air shop here.

The soda juices that he makes and sells have special names such as Saada, Masala, Electric, Hangover and Emergency varieties. If Saada is sweet, Masala is spicy and so is Electric which is also hot. But, Hangover seems to take his customers who drink this to a higher level.

All that Seetharam Nayak adds to his soda juices is sugar and some salt with the lemon. To prepare Masala, he adds a bit of spice that is prepared at home which looks like a ginger paste with pepper, mint and other medicinal items along with other spices.

Electric doesn't taste sweet. He adds sweet, spices and salt to make the Hangover variety. A 100 ml of lemon pulp along with salt, sugar and spices makes the Emergency variety.

Barring the Emergency and Saada varieties, all the others are in demand and are lemon soda specials in their own right.

Seetharam Nayak charges anything between Rs 30 to 60 for a glass of lemon soda juice and people have started flocking to this joint with the sweltering summer heat and the rising mercury.
