Mangaluru, Apr 16: Tibetan-born medical student Tenzin has spoken out against the leaked video footage of the 14th Dalai Lama preaching peace to the world. The footage shows a Buddhist monk allegedly engaging in obscene behavior.

Tibetan students, who are studying in various educational institutes in the Derlakatte area, staged a protest near Kuttaru Nityanandanagar. They alleged that a video of the Tibetan monk, Dalai Lama, kissing a boy while blessing him, had gone viral on social media, which insulted their religious beliefs.

The protesters claimed that clips from an old video were being taken out of context and displayed on social media and in the media to insult them. They also stated that there is a tradition called Juledha, where elders kiss children, and it is an emotional issue. They found it hurtful when celebrities like Anmol Chaudhary and Sarya put the video on social media.

A student named Vinzeen stated that circulating the old video is giving the wrong message to society. The video has been edited to project the child as a victim of the act. Vinzeen also condemned celebrities who participate in such campaigns without proper knowledge.

The protest was attended by students from Tashi, Tanzin, Wangmo, Rinzin, and Londen.
