Kerala's Royal Family Ecstatic over Temple Treasure

Temple Treasure : Royal Family Thrilled, Ecstatic, at Unimaginable Riches

Daijiworld Media Network – Thiruvananthapuram (SP)

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 5: The royal family of Kerala has never had it this good, at least in the recent times. They cannot control their excitement over the sheer extent of wealth now in their possession.

The members of the lineage of Travancore royal family, who live near the temple premises and continue to run a trust that manages the temple, are surprised at the amount of wealth unearthed from the underground cellars of the temple. While they knew that the cellars contained enormous wealth, they never had an inkling that it would of such a magnitude. At the same time, worries about protecting the wealth have also overtaken the concerned.

Even though head of the royal lineage, Utradam Tirunal Martanda Verma, has refused to comment on the findings, the other members of the trust have expressed a sense of elation, thrill and surprise.

It is a matter of concern that such wealth was not found in the properties owned by the royal families elsewhere. The findings here give an indication that families of other kings and emperors in the past too would have inherited enormous wealth in this way. It is also possible that foreign invaders had looted their wealth, unlike in the case of Travancore dynasty.

It is said that the cellars were last opened in 1932, by the then Travancore Maharaja, Chittira Tirunal. At that time, the wealth was said to be worth about a crore of rupees including gold and silver coins worth Rs 50 lac. It is not clear whether all the cellars were opened then. It is rumoured that another secret cellar, identified with the name, Saraswati Konam, also exists. But no one seems to be aware of its whereabouts.

In the meanwhile, it is learnt that the committee appointed by the Supreme Court has decided not to go ahead with the opening of the remaining cellar, identified as ‘B’, for now. This cellar is expected to contain huge amount of valuables, just like the cellar ‘A’, where valuables and jewels worth about Rs 50,000 crore were found. While some rumours expect this cellar to contain lot of wealth, some others dismiss them, as they say it contains only items used for religious rituals. The seven-member committee is likely to decide about the opening of the last cellar on Friday.

It is a great thing to know Kerala has a great treasure.

I appreciate the royal family for not using the treasures for their personal need and keeping this as a secret for years. Now since its a big figure the state wants it is not fair. There are a lot of royal families that are struggling today. Why cant the supreme court or the country respect them? I believe that the royal family should be give a portion of it. Can I ask you one question- "if your mother owned some gold or land and you are the heir of the land, would you ever like someone else to snatch it from you". I never would let anybody do that. What Kerala is today is due to the sincere commitment of the royal families.

I would like to quote a comment from the facebook commented on this news
Susan Rony: I'm so proud of the royal family that they never used these and appreciate their loyalty.....and i believe these treasures should not go into the State entirely cos many hands may end up to try to fill their owners pockets....a part of it should be given to the Royal family, its theirs and they deserve it......our political system is too corrupt...they only care for themselves and their family....not for the nation
Awaiting more comments on my facebook

Sir/ma'am, I believe you should put this in the letter to the editor column. Expecting to hear from you soon

While blaming the British and Mughals for the so called lootings of India's wealth, we should also blame our local kings who had looted this treasure from their subjects and stored them in the temples. According to some estimates this wealth is more than hundreds of Billions of US Dollars! There may be hundreds of ancient temples where this kind of wealth is stored all over India. Therefore, the Supreme Court should decide what to do with this wealth and the general public should get the benefit. This wealth should be utilised for the benefit of the poor and the downtrodden. Let the poor Hindu people get the benefit.

Let us not talk about distributing this in between our great politicians, spending this treasure for public project, whether its poor feeding also, means distributing to our great sincere politicians. First of all these treasure belongs to the
Tranvancore Rajas, no Govt. has any right on it, whether its Supreme Court ya any other court above supreme. if at all its to used - then this treasure shhould be used to safeguard the hindus of Bharat, because this treasure belongs to the hindu Maharajas or may be of some Hindu devotees), who safe guarded this first from the Muslims then from the Christians - the so called Mughals and English People. Do we ever think why we need to spend only the income of Temples for Public benefits? What happens to the income to the Churchs and Mosques?, which are non-acccountable, non-taxable. Only Hindu Temple offerings are always used for Public Projects, and eaten away by our dirty politicians as well. Think please think - To safeguard the Christians the americans are there, and for the Muslims - the Muslim Countries, think - who is there for the Hindus - Nobody, only the almighty. If at all these Treasures are to be used - it should be used to safeguard the values of Hinduism. The authorities must understand the fact. THIS TREASURE BELONGS TO THE HINDUS OF THIS NATION- THE BHARAT- not the so called india. English gone back- still we are living in that dirty name which the enlgish gave to us. Pity on us- its like changing our father's name.

Don't go with treasure that would bring material wealth..if you don't have spiritual treasure...you are bound to lose any wealth...each one of you can be wealthy from spirituality perspective by being righteous and observing the right path to attain spiritual wisdom...a treasure that nobody can loot from you..you will feel elated..live with your basic necessity and minimal wealth to sustain your family...don't go after wealth and richness...they don't last long...

    Religious places built by the
    royal families all across India
may have billions of dollars worth
of hidden treasures. And if that
    is used wisely, thousands of
    hospitals, schools and feeding
centers for the poor people can be
    established all across India.

ALL THIS TREASURE TROVE MUST BE PUT FOR PUBLIC VIEW, I MEAN, STORE IN A SAFE EXHIBITION (RELIGIOUS) SO THAT PEOPLE CAN ENJOY THE RICH HISTORY OF OUR CULTURE. THIS SHOWS, HOW INDIA WAS SO RICH, BUT LOOTED BY MANY RULERS, KINGS AND THEN FOREIGN POWERS. ALL THIS IS GOOD FOR US TO APPRECIATE WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE ARE SO. BUT, DO NOT ALLOW THE POLITICIANS TO TAKE DECISION ON THIS TREASURE. JAI HOO.

Baba Ramdev must be cursing himself for wasting time on the fast he did recently.
If he was aware of this treasure in the temple, he would have started yoga sessions and all other stupid sessions and would have hypnotised the authorities to hand over the temple to him.

Be careful. I feel, Kerala govt with its very limited income may be eyeing the riches of the temple inspite of saying they will protect it. Their prime income source is the liquor tax(excise) and income which comes from sabarimala pilgrims. Many govt. dues like teacher salaries are paid after the pilgrim season for obvious reasons :)
