Reliance TimeOut Launches Giselle Mehta's Debut Novel 'Blossom Showers'

Mangalore, Jul 17: Giselle Mehta's debut novel 'Blossom Showers' was unveiled at Reliance TimeOut in City Centre mall here on Sunday July 17.
The author Giselle Mehta, a versatile and well-known personality, was accompanied by Alan Nazareth, author and former diplomat, (Bangalore) and H C Parikh, president- elect of the international book readers association, India Chapter at the launch.
Alan Nazreth, author and former diplomat, Bangalore speaking on the occasion lauded the author and called her as literary genius and he said the author reserves a special space in her life for altruistic concerns and humane initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, H C Parikh said that author’s research and command over English language has overwhelmed him. Forcefully propagated natural conservation and environment balance aspects has mesmerised him.
Author Giselle Mehta said, “In Blossom Showers, I have tried to imprint a truly compelling saga of three generations of the Cordelio family. It is propelled by eventful pace and robust characterization. I hope to reach out to my readers with my debut novel”.
She added that her interest in drama and quizzing during college days propelled her to write and said in her debut novel deeper exploration of human persona is processed. 441 pages novel has 3 parts first being sturdy seeds, second being the bewitching bloom and the conclusion part, heavy harvest. She recommended the readers above 18 years to read the book. The novel is a media of reconstruction of social process, she concluded.
Speaking to Daijiworld on the sidelines of the launch H C Parikh said that the notion that there has been a decline in the reading public is wrong.
He said the trend is reversing in Mumbai with more book exhibitions and other forms of events that showcase good books to younger generation. He denied the fact that TV and internet users have completely diverted from reading books, rather he said in a book exhibition held at Jaipur, stunning response was received. He added the statistics of book readers in Karnataka state also is satisfactory. However, he said in small towns there has been a decline in reading public due to lack of promotion.
