Mangalore, Jul 18: Hindu Janjagruthi Samiti (HJS) in association with Sanatan Sanstha celebrated Gurupoornima here recently. The Gurupoornima was celebrated by the Hindus to show their gratitude to Guru in 270 different places in India and abroad.
 
The programme commenced with Vyasa and Bhaktaraj Maharaj's puja. A visual presentation was made on the subject 'How to do Dharmacharan?’ Dharmabhimanis were honoured by the chief spokesperson of HJS Raveendra Kamat.

Addressing th gathering, Kamat said that government and politicians think it is their birth right to follow corruption and appease the minorities. He also said that Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare fought against corruption and were not only neglected but also assaulted by the government.

He also said the central government’s efforts to pass the communal violence-2011 bill was aimed at securing vote bank. Unlike the title of the bill the concepts in it are anti-Hindu, he added. The bill targets only Hindus, he said.

A petition opposing the bill with signatures of people from 17 different districts has been sent to the President. He blamed the government for targeting the community’s wealth in Temples, by bringing them under control of the government.

He alleged that the funds of 1 lac temples currently under the government are utilized for appeasing minorities instead of being used for the welfare of the temples.
