Accused in Mangaluru cooker blast arrested in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jun 14: Odisha police have arrested an accused in connection with the Mangaluru cooker blast that occurred last year in an auto rickshaw.

The accused arrested is Preetham Kar (31) who is said to have direct links with a Pakistani intelligence agency. He was arrested in Bhuranga village of Jaipur district and has been produced before a court.

Preetham Kar is accused of handing over a mobile handset and a SIM card to Shariq who is currently in custody related to the case.

Preetham is the fifth person to be arrested in the case.

It is said that Preetham and his companions have been engaged in this activity since 2017. Misusing of bank accounts with stolen information and distribution of OTPs and use of e-wallets with cyber criminals have been their regular activity.

The Odisha special task force said the accused had recently taken Rs 1.5 lac from an ISI agent directly in a meeting.
