Bantwal, June 14: Lokayuktha officials received grievances from the public at the Taluk Adalita Soudha office, presided over by Lokayuktha SP Simon, on June 14.

Most of the 19 complaints received were related to the revenue department. SP Simon patiently listened to the complaints and carefully examined them. He provided guidance on cases that were pending in court and urged officials to address issues within the legal framework.

Officials reported that out of the 19 complaints, 17 were related to the revenue department, while two were related to the municipal council department.

Some of the complaints included allegations of electricity connections to pump sets being disconnected, causing hardships for farmers dependent on Netravati river water. Mescom officials stated that they were following orders from the deputy commissioner. There were also complaints regarding inadequate compensation for land acquired for the construction of a dam at Thumbe. SP Simon assured the complainants that he would communicate with the deputy commissioner and the corporation officers regarding these matters.

Additionally, a complainant raised concerns about private encroachment on land allotted for the crematorium, in violation of the deputy commissioner's orders.

Lokayuktha Dy SP Cheluvaraj, Inspector Amanulla Khan, government officials, and taluk level officials were present during the proceedings.
