Wipro Projects Marginal Growth in Second Quarter


Bangalore, Jul 20 (IANS): Global software major Wipro Ltd Wednesday projected an average revenue of $1.5 billion for the second quarter (July-September) of this fiscal (2011-12).

It is sequentially marginal to $1.4 billion it achieved in the first quarter (April-June) of this fiscal.

In a regulatory filing Wednesday, the IT bellwether said revenue from its global IT services would be in the range of $1,436-1,464 million for the second quarter (Q2) under the International Financial Reporting Standards.

Though the IT services business growth in the first quarter (Q1) was 17 percent year-on-year (YoY) in dollar terms, it was 0.5 percent sequentially from the fourth quarter (January-March) of last fiscal (2010-11).
