Udupi: Family deceived Rs 61.54 lac on pretext of providing flat, complaint filed

Udupi, Jun 15: A case is filed in city police station in which a family was deceived by Rs 61.54 lac on the pretext of providing a flat in an apartment building.

An agreement was made in 2014, between accused Amrith Shenoy, owner of Shri Laxmi Infrastructure at Kadabettu under city municipality limits and Jerome Praveen D’Almeida, brother of Leslie Lawrence D’Almeida and his wife Jacintha D’Almeida for Rs 6154400 for a duplex flat in Visor building.

Rs one lac was paid on the day of agreement for sale, Rs nine lac through NEFT and remaining Rs 5154400 from April 2015 to April 2018. However, the accused did not complete the work related to the duplex flat and did not get the same registered and sold it to Guruprasad in 2018.

In his complaint, Leslie Lawrence D’Almeida has accused Amrit Shenoy of having done the same with several flat owners of that building. The total amount the accused has cheated might be around Rs 12 to Rs 15 crore according to the complainant.

    Shenoy Maam, chang asa, is sitting on a mountain of easy cash; he knows very well that with so much money at his disposal, nobody can touch even a single hair of his....case will run for another fifty years!
