Priyank Kharge wants KEONICS to be developed to suit present needs

Bengaluru, Jun 16: Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS), which was a major electronics development enterprise for several decades, must be developed into a key undertaking to suit the present needs, State IT and Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge said on Friday.

The minister, who held a meeting of senior officials, said the past glory and record of KEONICS must be reestablished to make the enterprise relevant to the needs and requirements of present times.

Kharge advised the officials to ensure transparency and accountability in all tenders and also asked them to revise the list of vendors.

The minister laid special emphasis on IT education and IT Park and wanted a workable blueprint to be prepared.

KEONICS Managing Director Ravi D Channannavar and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
