Mumbai: Jayashreekrishna Parisara Samiti submits appeal to Moily on devt of coastal dists

Mumbai, Jun 17: Delegation of Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti met former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily at Leela International hotel of Andheri (East) on June 15 and submitted a draft for the development of coastal districts.

Speaking on the occasion Moily said, “Employment needs to be generated in the coastal districts. I have worked hard for the tourism development. Many huge companies of the country are willing to come to the district. I will submit this appeal to the CM and ask him for verification. It is really appreciable that all community people of undivided district of Dakshina Kannada are getting together and working for the development of twin districts.”

Hiriyadka Mohandas, vice president of the committee and former president of Devadiga Sangha, welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Praveen Narayan Devadiga, president of Devadiga Sangha read the report.

Dharmapal Devadiga, former president of the committee and president of Devadiga Mahamandala, said, “Many times in the past we have conveyed the projects through our committee. He also had chalked out many plans for the development of the district. However, many hurdles were there to implement the same. Now his party government has come to power. We are confident that all our projects will be successful through him.”

Vice president of Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti Dhananjaya Shetty, working president of Bunts association CA I R Shetty, former president of Karnataka Vishwakarma association G T Acharya, president of Devadiga Sangha Praveen Devadiga, vice president Naresh Devadiga, former president Hiriyadka Mohan Das, former president of Bhandary seva samiti Justice R M Bhandary, president of Maharashtra Vokkaliga sangha Jeetendra Gowda, former president of committee Harish Kumar Shetty, Dharmapala Devadiga, president of district Sapalya Seva sangha Srinivas Sapalya, honorary secretary of Vidyadayini Sabha Chitrapu K M Kotian, members of Bhandary seva samiti Rakesh Bhandary, Jayaprakash Kamath, honorary secretaries Ravi S Devadiga, treasurer Tulasidas Ameen, joint treasurer of Karnataka Vishwakarma association Sadananda Acharya, CS Ganesh Shetty, Amit Jagannath Shetty and secretary of Devadiga Sangha Prabhakar Devadiga were present.

Speaking on the occasion L V Ameen, president of the association said, “The committee has fought for the past three years for the development of the districts and worked hard for huge industries to come to the city. We have fought for the environment pollution. Through these lots of employment is generated in the districts. During your tenure as CM, you have worked hard for the development of the districts. Now through your party government we expect more development of the districts. Dakshina Kannada district should become tourist attraction. Government should respond to our effort. We have already submitted appeal to the government for the development of our districts. You have to put in your efforts to implement the same.”

Congratulating Moily, Tonse Jayakrishna Shetty, founder of the association said, “You are having rich experience in politics and are active even now at the elderly age. You have held responsible position in the union and state governments. You have worked to bring many projects in the districts of Dakshina Kannada. We always remember the same. We are confident that you will cooperate with the committee without harming the feelings of locals and religious beliefs. Our committee loves caste and religion and also the development of the districts. You know the matter of development of the districts. Our committee had leaders of all communities. We will always support your government for the development of our districts. From the past 23 years we have worked hard for the development of the district. Industries have to be created so that our youth does not go out of our districts.”

The main points of the appeal given to CM Moily:

1. Environment: River and sea protection project, pipeline for drainage water, effective treatment plan, residential colony and effective project for small industries, protection of forests and hills, park reservation

2. Industrialization: Engineering zones, medicinal zones, fertilizer zones, food conservation, automobile, fishing production, plastic, special economic zones of small and large scale

3. Road connectivity: Street lights for all religious centres, road connection, similarly for small villages and interior residential areas, pedestrian crossing, parking facility, road signals for human safety

4. Commercial zone: IT Park, commercial and banking buildings. International commercial centre, hotel and resorts

5. Coastal developmental schemes and tourism projects

6. Land reservation for huge convention hall, spacious play ground

7. Land reservation for public functions
