Mangaluru, Jun 21: “The Congress earlier promised free schemes to the public, and now they cannot provide the same. Hence, they are hurling baseless allegations at the union government,” said Dakshina Kannada MP and BJP state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
He was reacting to the media on the allegation of Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi on Wednesday, June 21. Jarkiholi had levelled serious allegation against the central government for hacking the Gruha Laxmi Scheme App.
Nalin further said, “The union government has provided 10 kilograms of rice until now. When Siddaramaiah was running the government, the union government had provided Rs 27 for the rice and the state government contributed Rs three, but Siddaramaiah took free publicity.
“The Congress had promised in its manifesto to provide ten kilograms of rice, but now it has failed. When they promised people, did they say that we (Congress) will provide rice, only if the union government provides it? The union government is providing five kilograms of rice. Even during the time of pandemic, the union government provided rice to the public. There has been no demand for 2 lakh tonne of rice before the prime minister. The Congress are giving statements for publicity and playing politics. I congratulate the Congress for their agitation. As they have failed to provide rice, they are protesting against themselves.
“Now they are alleging that the Gruha Laxmi Scheme website is hacked. The union government will never do such work. It is the failure of the Congress government. No governments will hack websites. Will their government hack the other government websites now? Can they hack the websites of the corporation and other local bodies which is under the BJP's rule?
“The Congress do not have any morality. If they have any morality left, let them give ten kilograms of rice as promised. There is no role of the union government. We do not have our government here, but we do have our government in several states. Nowhere the union government has indulged in such things. Siddaramaiah is involving in silly politics,” he said.
