Puttur: Street dog kills two-year-old buck grazing near forest border

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jul 2: A two-year-old buck (male deer) was tragically killed by a street dog at Saralikatte Hosamugeru, within the zonal forest limits of Uppinangady, on Saturday.

The buck had ventured near the forest border while grazing when it was viciously attacked by the street dog. Local residents immediately alerted forest officials about the incident, urging them to transport the severely injured deer to a veterinary hospital. Although the forest officials promptly rushed the deer to the veterinary clinic, it tragically succumbed to its injuries.

The deer was laid to rest at Mannagundi, where a forest department depot is located. Deputy forest conservator Sandeep, Carol Monteiro, forest guard Pratap, and driver Kishore participated in the operation.

What's the mistake of the dog? He was hungry and caught a nice prey; it's the misfortune of the baby buck to have come near the border of the forest!

Street dogs are a menace I feel the government must make attempts to adopt these dogs and let there will be good dog shelters so that they don't attack human beings and other animals Recently in our neighboring state of Kerala a child was killed by a dog. Street dogs need to be relocated into good areas so that they don't attack human beings.

Actually humans are the biggest menace on earth; they have destroyed the entire flora and fauna given by mother nature! Here what's the mistake of the dog; dogs are hunters and eat raw flesh; it's is just by coincidence that the dog 🐕 got a very tasty prey to chew! Any which way, this baby buck would have gotten devoured by some other wild animal as it was wandering solo!
