Civic reception accorded to President Murmu on first visit to Maharashtra

Mumbai, Jul 7: President of India Droupadi Murmu was accorded a civic reception by government of Maharashtra on her first visit to the state since becoming the President at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Thursday, July 6.

State Governor Ramesh Bais, chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated the President by presenting her an idol of Lord Ganesha and a bust of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.  

The reception was attended by several ministers, former chief ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde and Prithviraj Chavan, playback singer Asha Bhosle and director of Birla Group Rajashree Birla among others.
 
The Governor also hosted a state dinner in honour of the President. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
