Mumbai, Jul 14: Gururaj S Nayak was re-elected as president at the 82nd annual general body meeting of the Mumbai Kannada Sangha held their at the office at Dadar Hindu colony on July 8.

Somanath S Karkera and Rajendra Gadiar were elected as honorary chief secretary and treasurer respectively. Dr S K Bhavani was elected as vice president, Mallikarjuna Badigera as joint secretary, Dr Rajani V Pai as women’s wing president, Prabha Suvarna as women’s wing secretary and Narmada Kini as women’s wing vice president. S K Padmanabha, Sudhakar C Poojary, Chidananda Magadama, Narayana Rao, Ramachandra Bhat, Nagesh Kunder, Sathish Bangera, Suguna V Shetty, Sandhya Prabhu and Vittal Acharya were elected as committee members.

The meeting began after prayers by S K Padmanabha. Discussions on collection of funds for future projects were held. Veteran social worker N P Suvarna was considered as the sponsor. Rajani V Pai, N P Suvarna, Prabha Suvarna, Narmada Kini, Nagesh Kunder, S K Sunder, Sathish N Bangera, S K Padmanabha and Narayana Rao provided suggestions for the progress of the sangha.

Gururaja S Nayak presided over the programme. Honorary chief secretary Somanatha S Karkera proposed a vote of thanks.
