RIP! Man-wild animal conflict has become very common nowadays; all this is man made by rampant hacking of forests, which was their staying and hunting ground! People staying near forests are now at very high risk from these wild animals, which are forced to venture into human habitation for food and moving space! Monkeys and peacocks destroy coconut and fruit plantation! Wild elephants destroy entire plantations; no doubt many people are selling off their lands/estates because of this menace; as more and more trees are chopped, the problem is going to escalate!

this is but very sad .Now leopards find no food around in forest, they are on the hunt of children since they are easily caught and not heavier.Govt.must now realize here it is not they give only compansation but to get rid of this leopard menace .Leopards are not for our forest .Where people go there to work or go through to other places.Once they start to catch children /humans will not end so soon.So Govt must either transfer to other forests or end this.Heartfelt sympathy to family.May the little angel s soul rest in peace.

Rita, very well said! We have to have a holistic view and cannot blame these wild animals; but the irony is that some greedy influential people make easy money by lumbering precious trees and some encroach on forest land to develop home stays; all by bribing the concerned authorities, and in the bargain some innocent/poor children and people get killed; I wonder where is justice in this world!!
